The Overwatch 2 beta kicked off yesterday, and as Blizzard's new team-based FPS is being tested, it didn't take long for the game to break the viewership record on Twitch.
Less than two hours after the beta launch, Overwatch had 469.000 viewers, according to streaming platform data.
The game has been tested by all the popular streamers you'd expect, including xQc, which has 100.000+ viewers. Other streamers playing the game with 20.000 or more viewers included AlphaCast, Lyric, and former Overwatch pro Seagull.
According to Twitch Tracker, previously the game's highest concurrent views on Twitch were 439.152. That old record for the game came more than four years ago, on January 10, 2018, on the opening day of the Overwatch League's season.
The Overwatch 2 Beta is scheduled to end on May 17 and is currently only available for PC players.
