Overwatch 2's Next Collaboration is K-Pop Group Le Sserafim. Overwatch 2 follows in the footsteps of Fortnite and features its first musical collaboration with K-Pop group Le Sserafim.
Blizzard announced the collaboration with the five-member girl group, whose name is an anagram of the word “I'm fearless,” in an official blog post on Wednesday. The event will feature new in-game content inspired by the rising K-pop group behind hits like “FEARLESS” and “ANTIFRAGILE.”
Le Sserafim, consisting of Kim Chaewon, Sakura, Huh Yunjin, Kazuha and Hong Eunchae, will kick off their collaboration with Overwatch 2 with the music video of their new single "Perfect Night", which will be released on October 26 at 21:00 ET. In the concept trailer for the music video, one of the members is seen wearing D.Va's headphones. You can guess who wore it.
Overwatch 2 gets a new game mode inspired by LE SSEFAFIM
Overwatch 2 will launch a game mode inspired by the music of Le Sserafim alongside Legendary hero skins on November 1. Details about the mode and costumes will be announced on October 30. The band will then perform “Perfect Night” and their other songs at this year's BlizzCon.
“We are extremely excited to be working with Le Sserafim for our game's first musical artist collaboration,” Overwatch general manager Walter Kong said in a press release. “Like the heroes of Overwatch, the members of Le Sserafim are individually amazing, but when they come together they are unstoppable.”
Overwatch 2's first collaboration with a musical group, and a K-Pop group at that, comes on the heels of its one-year anniversary and Microsoft's $69 billion acquisition of parent company Activision Blizzard, bringing the series under new ownership. What better way to celebrate Overwatch's move to its new home and the sequel's first birthday than with an in-game and real-world K-Pop concert?
