The next Plants vs Zombies game is slowly approaching, but like a zombie, it's getting closer and closer. EA and PopCap, Plants vs Zombies 3: Welcome to Zomburbia announced that the game has been soft launched in the UK, Netherlands, Australia and the Philippines. This final testing phase will begin later this year. a full worldwide launch will prepare the ground for
Plants vs. While Zombies has been better known lately for the Garden Warfare series of shooters, PvZ3 returns to the series' roots (get it?) as a tower defense game. You'll defend Neighborville from oncoming zombies, setting up the usual garden-based traps and defenses with new plants as well as returning favorites. PvZ3 also adds new elements such as streamlined combat, a customizable Neighborville, and an episodic narrative with new characters and lore to expand the world. This game will also add puzzle challenges that will be different from the usual tower defense battles.
PopCap first announced Plants vs Zombies 3 in 2019, and it has since undergone limited testing in various regions. This soft launch signals that the full release is approaching, so we should be ready to harvest our flower power this year.
Plants vs. Zombies was first released in 2009, and the brand became a hit for PopCap with its comic book adaptations from Dark Horse. Plants vs. Zombies 2 was released on mobile devices in 2013 and revolved around a time travel theme. It received mostly positive reviews, but the following year's Garden Warfare spin-off quickly established itself as the new face of PvZ over the past few years. The studio also released a card game called Plants vs Zombies Heroes in 2016.
