Sony has announced a new PlayStation State of Play release to be released next week, and new announcements await us, including games for PSVR2. The event, which is said to last approximately 30 minutes, will take place on Friday, June 3, at 01:00 Turkish time.
The announcement did not include much detail on what the presentation would contain. A PlayStation Blog post promised there would be "exciting revelations from our third-party partners, as well as a brief look at various games in development for PlayStation VR2." This could mean we won't be seeing Sony's non-VR first-party series of games. Reporter Jeff Grubb said this could be where we'll see Street Fighter 6's debut.
This event is in the midst of other Non-E3 events and will take place sometime before the Xbox-Bethesda Showcase competes. There's no traditional E3 this year, but we're seeing several publishers and platform owners announcing events that will take place in June regardless.
Sony has repeatedly said that God of War: Ragnarok is aiming to release it this year. That makes the potential absence of first-party games notable, but Sony may be planning a separate event to showcase its own games.
