A release date has been announced at the end of Splatoon 3. Nintendo has announced that Splatoon 3 is coming to Nintendo Switch on September 9.
Like previous games in the series, Splatoon 3 is a four-on-one shooter where teams of humanoid creatures called Inklings and Octolings compete to paint a battlefield a certain color. The lack of violence and realistic tone helps set the series apart from the plethora of other competitive shooters.
With The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild's sequel being delayed to 2023, Splatoon 3 will likely be one of Nintendo's biggest holiday season titles. Nintendo also announced earlier this week that the sci-fi RPG Xenoblade Chronicles 3, which was previously scheduled for release in September, will arrive on July 29.
