The system requirements for The Day Before are not very stringent. But open world MMO games are pretty greedy when it comes to RAM. While the post-apocalyptic survival game can run on a low-end graphics card from 2015, you may need to refresh your hardware if you want to play at higher settings.
According to The Day Before system requirements on Steam, you will need a graphics card equal to the Nvidia GTX 960 to launch the MMO. To increase FPS or play at higher resolutions, you need to use a GPU like GTX 1060 or AMD Radeon RX 580. Using higher graphics cards will naturally facilitate a higher quality experience.
Although the game does not want a very high graphics card, it wants a solid RAM. MMO's system requirements claim at least 10GB, and you'll need 16GB to match Fntastic's recommended specs. It's worth noting that it's not unreasonable for the developers to suggest playing with 2022GB Ram in 16, but meeting the 10GB Ram minimum threshold can be difficult for anyone playing on a gaming laptop or desktop rig with 8GB.
If you have an RTX graphics card, you will be able to take advantage of features such as Nvidia DLSS upscaling and ray tracing. Nvidia's features will both help improve the city streets of post-pandemic America and keep the frame rates high, and it won't make you have to lower the game's settings.
