A few familiar faces will help revive the team.
The Vancouver Titans did not have a top 2021 Overwatch League season and finished the year with a 1-15 record.
Vancouver announced its five-player 2022 roster today, giving fans their first look at their reinvigorated roster. The organization has put every 2021 player out of the Overwatch League's season.
Former Vancouver phenomenon Niclas “sHockWave” Jensen will return to the team in 2022 after spending a year with Philadelphia Fusion. SHockWave was part of Titans' Contenders receivers in 2020, when the organization's entire Korean staff was sacked.
He will be joined by Toronto Defiant's hitscan Luka “Aspire” Rolovic, who last season saw him as a last-minute clutch player for the league's other Canadian team. Originally signed with the Defiant as a 30-day transfer, he signed a permanent contract until his release by Toronto in the off-season.
Senior main support and former Atlanta Reign star Petja “Masaa” Kantanen will join the Titans along with another former Toronto Defiant player, flex support Park “Aztac” Jeong-su.
Nick “False” Wiseman, a Canadian non-tank player best known for his work on the North American Overwatch Contenders scene, will lead Vancouver's tank line. He played for teams like American Tornado and was most recently part of Maryville Esports and Bobby Wasabi.
For now, False will be the only tank playing for the Titans unless the team signs a main tank. But Vancouver's five-man roster isn't permanent: the team must have five players by January 3, 2022, and will need six by March 1, according to the league's roster building rules.
