Gotham Knights will be released without Russian audio and subtitles. It has been claimed that the Russian version of Gotham Knights has been cancelled. According to The Happy Warrior, Warner Bros. Sources in Montreal confirmed that the publisher canceled the Russian version "due to the political repercussions of Russia's invasion of Ukraine."
The rumor is getting stronger with the confirmation that Gotham Knight's Russian subsite has been taken offline; The URL now results in a 404 error (it was still live on May 12, according to archive.org). Similarly, the Steam page doesn't mention Russian language support, and both Russian voiceovers and subtitles appear to have been removed.
It is also thought that the options to play in the Russian language will be removed from all versions of the game.
Warner Bros. He didn't officially comment, but a source said the company was "afraid of upsetting the gaming press or causing trouble on social media."
Gotham Knights' development team recently addressed the criticism surrounding the portrayal of Barbara Gordon. During a Q&A, fans posed more questions about the development of Barbara (aka Batgirl) following backlash to her character's biography on the game's website.
Although Barbara Gordon was shot in the spine by the Joker in the comics, some fans criticized Warner Bros. for this statement, saying it was a misused metaphor for a character to "overcome" their obstacles with heroic training and courageous determination.
We also recently learned that Warner Bros. has canceled the planned PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of Gotham Knights.
Gotham Knights will be released on October 25, 2022 on Xbox X and S Series, PlayStation 5 and PC.
