Lost Ark's first Legion Raid, Valtan, will be released in the western version of the game. Developer Smilegate believes that “the player base has reached the level of equipment required to participate in the Raid.”
In an update to the game's official blog, the team confirmed that "team-based hard activities" will require 1415 levels for normal difficulty and 1445 for hard mode, and will be out later this month.
Valtan will deliver the first Legion Raid to the western version of Lost Ark. Legion Raids are difficult team-based activities that require teamwork to find and implement the strategy necessary to counter each Legion Commander's unique characteristics, abilities, and mechanics.
“Because Legion Raids take time due to their difficulty, there are gates (or checkpoints) to save the player's progress as they progress through the Raid. Valtan is an eight player Legion Raid. Raid has 2 gates and introduces a host of new mechanics. Players should have 1415 for normal difficulty and 1445 for hard.”
Valtan Raidi also introduces a new rare item called “Relic” which can be converted from materials gained in Raid into “more effective armor and weapon bonuses”. There's also the new Destroyer Advanced Class, as well as a host of new activities and missions to complete.
As for future updates?
“Now that we're locked into Valtan, Deskaluda, and more endgame content for May, we'll take a look at our summer plans later this month.”
After commenting on the matter last month, Smilegate once again addressed players' "pay for progress" concerns.
“It is never our goal for players to feel like they have to pay to progress, and players who have not reached the required item levels to participate should not feel pressured – keep enjoying the journey of exploration and challenging yourself at your own pace.”
