The third major patch for Baldur's Gate 3 is now live and includes the long-awaited Magic Mirror feature. Players can now find the Magic Mirror in the camp and change their character's appearance. Everything can be changed except your character's race and subrace. However, it cannot be used to get rid of “any cosmetic changes that occur as a result of gameplay choices.” Additionally, origin characters, hirelings, and full illithids cannot use the Magic Mirror. The third patch also added full support for the game on Mac. Larian Studios recommends players on Mac uninstall all mods and reinstall the game before patching.
Some notes on Baldur's Gate 3 third patch
In classic Larian fashion, the patch notes once again exceed Steam's text limit. I've listed a few of the most important patch notes below:
- Grym had suddenly become alarmingly intelligent and was avoiding approaching the Crucible in the Adamantium Forge. We pulled him back a little with a nervous laugh.
- Fixed a bug that allowed you to trade with Cazador while he was begging for mercy.
- Laezel will no longer hang around you (whether dead or alive) after you slit his throat when you ambush him at night.
- We placed a beautiful purple picnic blanket in a romantic scene with Gale and fixed the camera rotation if you prefer to spend time with her.
- Nobody wanted this, but we made the ceremorphosis scene on the nautiloid even more terrifying. You're welcome
- The ball that summons Scratch is now called Scratch's Ball.

The majority of the patch notes consist of fixes, balancing tweaks, and adjustments to smooth out the gameplay experience, especially towards the final stages of the story. Cross-platform play is not included in this patch. However, Larian stated that this is in the roadmap for Baldur's Gate 3.
The latest Microsoft leak has revealed that Microsoft estimates it will cost $3 million to bring Baldur's Gate 5 to Game Pass, with the company calling the game a "second-run Stadia PC RPG." Larian responded with understanding, and publishing director Michael Douse noted that it “just comes with the genre.”
