Arcane, the newest series from Riot Games and Netflix, is getting extremely popular. It debuted as the best series on the streaming platform in 38 countries, according to flixpatrol.
Arcane was heavily advertised by Riot, with promotional materials released just before the 2021 League of Legends World Championship finals kicked off. It was also well received by critics and LoL fans around the world. Therefore, its early popularity is not so surprising.
According to Flixpatrol, Arcane currently ranks at the top for Netflix series in countries like Brazil, Denmark, and Poland. The series also ranks in the top five in Canada and South Korea. And it entered the top 10 in countries such as the USA and the UK. In our country, it entered the top 5.
Arcane also recorded a big opening in China, according to Bloomberg. The show reportedly had 130 million views in the country within a few hours and quickly became the most sought after topic on Tencent's streaming platform.
The series introduces viewers to several well-known characters from the League universe, including Caitlyn, Jinx, Vi, Jayce and Ekko. Their stories intersect here and there and so far create an intriguing plotline, especially for Riot's MOBA fans.
So far, only the first act of Arcane has been released. The second and third act will air on November 13 and 20, respectively. With that in mind, it's possible that Arcane will remain the best series in many countries during this month.
