Assassin's Creed Mirage Serpent's Nest Book Puzzle
When you arrive at the library during the Serpent's Nest quest, you will have collected four books of different colors: black, white, yellow and blue. A poem you can read in the room seems to allude to four elements corresponding to these books: the ocean, the desert, a cobra, and a dove.
Up the stairs, you can place these four books on the altars, and doing this in the correct order will solve the puzzle and reveal a secret room for you to progress.
However, these books and their associated metaphors get a bit lost in translation. You may have figured out what each book means by now, but here's that part of the puzzle anyway:
- Ocean – blue book
- Desert – Yellow Book
- Cobra – Black Book
- Dove – white book
This might be easy enough to understand, but when you place the books in this order, left to right, nothing happens – and that's where a vital final detail comes into play: Arabic is written and read from right to left, not left to right.
Because, When facing the four altars at the top of the stairs, you should place them in the order above, from right to left; so the altar closest to the stairs is for the blue book, followed by yellow, then black, then white.
As soon as you perform these steps, a cutscene will play explaining the next part of your mission.
