Get your first look at Battlefield Mobile in new images from the alpha test.
EA is bringing the Battlefield franchise to mobile for the first time with a new game developed by the studio of Alex Seropian, one of the creators of Halo. The full game is still some time away, but EA has softly launched Battlefield Mobile in the Philippines and Indonesia, and now the first images from the initial test have surfaced.
Gameplay videos all over YouTube and elsewhere show combat on the ground and in vehicles, providing a first look at how the controls work. The video also shows how Battlefield's trademark destruction elements affect mobile gameplay. The map looks like the Grand Bazaar. It all looks pretty good.
Battlefield Mobile is a free-to-play game powered by microtransactions. EA said that the only items you can buy for real money are cosmetics. The game will also have its own battle passes that are exclusive to the game and are not synced to the console/PC version of Battlefield.
Battlefield Mobile was developed by EA's mobile studio Industrial Toys. EA said, “We have assembled a dedicated team of mobile game development experts to lead the creation of Battlefield Mobile in Industrial. Overall, this is a collaborative effort with our established Battlefield team, DICE Studio and other partners.”
As for Battlefield 2042, DICE's military shooter was recently delayed to November 19. An open beta is coming for the game, but it has also been delayed.
