Call of Duty: Vanguard is just a week old game and Sledgehammer Games has introduced a working Anti-Cheat nonetheless. The RICOCHET software was announced earlier this year and is primarily designed to fight cheaters in Warzone.
However, the developers of Anti-Cheat have also adapted the software for Vanguard. This means that if players see a user cheating in multiplayer, they can get them banned from Call of Duty games. To do this, players must report the player in question on Vanguard.
On Saturday, Sledgehammer published a blog post detailing how RICOCHET works at Vanguard. Essentially, the software works to detect any third-party cheat software and bans users it finds to be running cheats. However, no Anti-Cheat is cheat-proof and some players may escape the system, cheating in-game. This is where the community comes in. Report a cheating player on Vanguard To report a player, users must first find a player they suspect is cheating in Vanguard multiplayer mode. However, players should make sure that the user they suspect is cheating looks suspicious enough to warrant reporting. Also, players who can be reported are not just cheaters. For example, if a player is using offensive language, players can report them as well. This article mainly focuses on the cheating aspect of the process.
After encountering a so-called cheater, players can end or quit the match they are currently playing and return to the main lobby. From there, press Triangle/Y/F1 to bring up the Social tab and navigate to the “Recent Players” section. Select the player suspected of cheating on this screen by clicking on their name. This will open a menu with an option to report that player.
After clicking, players can choose the rationale for the report and an explanation if they want to provide an explanation. Players can complete the transaction by pressing the submit button.
With adequate help from the community, RICOCHET Anti-Cheat software will be supremely effective at Vanguard.
