These are the weapons you want to grind.
The great, nostalgic weapons of WWII are on full display in Call of Duty: Vanguard, the latest installment in the long-running FPS series.
All the classic, vintage guns from previous WWII shooters and history movies of the past are here. The MP40, M1 Garand, Bren LMG and many more are here for players to unlock, rank up and dominate multiplayer matches.
Sometimes all a good weapon needs are a few add-ons to turn it into a beast, and Vanguard's Gunsmith lets you attach 10 attachments to primary weapons.
Remember that game updates come every month. In these updates released by the developers, weapons are often tweaked by upgrading (making them stronger) or weakening them (making them worse), so it's important to keep in mind what's hot right now and what's no longer good.
Here are the best weapons available in Call of Duty: Vanguard:
MP 40
Unsurprising to many, the MP-40 is by far one of Vanguard's best guns in its early stages. The classic WWII era submachine gun dominates at close to mid range and is outstanding when used by objective gamers or those who simply love to run and gun.
The MP-40 can defend itself against all other submachine guns and assault rifles currently in the game. That may change in the future, but you can expect this weapon to be part of the meta for quite some time. Its speed and accuracy are also unmatched.
STG44
Assault rifle fans will find a home with the STG44, a jack of all sorts for all trades. It's well balanced in terms of stats when it comes to firepower, speed, accuracy, and ammo, and it'll quickly become a favorite just because it's a default weapon.
Other assault rifles excel in other areas, but the STG44 is “applicable in almost any situation,” as its in-game description reads. An early favorite for pro players and public match stars alike.
Automatically
The Automaton's high rate of fire and accuracy made it one of the best guns in Vanguard's early stages. With the right gear, this thing can consistently laser beam enemies across the map in a way that other assault rifles currently can't.
Type 100
Another option for the SMG to run and gunners is the Japanese Type 100. Once past the ugly side-fed magazine of this thing, it's one of the best submachine guns in the game, designed to wreak havoc with its movement speed and low recoil.
BAR
If a slower-firing, hard-hitting assault rifle is your thing, the BAR is probably the best option in the Vanguard right now. The BAR hits incredibly hard at times compared to an LMG more than an AR. But its slow rate of fire confuses it closely.
The BAR is best when equipped with attachments that stabilize its recoil and a long-range scope to keep enemies at bay. If you get pushed by an SMG player, you'll likely be taken care of quickly, so bring a submachine gun or an Overkill SMG in your third advantage slot to help you stay in the game.
kar98k
Undoubtedly a favorite of fast scopers and installers everywhere, the Kar98k has long been the sniper gamer's choice in WWII games, and this iteration is no different. Of the handful of snipers and sniper rifles in the game, Snow is the hardest hitting.
Once you get used to the rhythm of the sliding sniper's rate of fire, the Kar98k can grab targets in YouTube videos and melt faces with ease with lots of lens flare. More snipers will be added over time, but for now the Kar98k is still king.
