Crazy Raccoon announced that Korean in-game leader Munchkin is leaving the team after losing to the ZETA Division in the VCT Japan: Stage One Challenger finals.
Japanese player Neth remains the only player left from the VCT Champions 2021 roster.
Crazy Raccoon was known as the strongest team in Japan in early 2021, largely under Munchkin's leadership. But people started seeing Zeta Division as Japan's No.
Now, after losing to ZETA Division once again and failing to qualify for VCT Masters Reykjavik, Crazy Raccoon will be on the hunt for a new IGL.
Munchkin explained in a statement that his grasp of the Japanese language is one of the primary issues, considering his role as an in-game leader.
Munchkin is a former Overwatch veteran who specifically competed in Seoul Dynasty and Boston Uprising before transitioning to VALORANT via Cloud2020 Korea in 9. After a tenure of four months, he made a regional transit from his homeland in South Korea to Japan.
Munchkin's departure from Crazy Raccoon marks the end of a 14-month tenure with the Japanese esports organization. The South Korean in-game leader will now seek opportunities elsewhere, possibly in South Korea, so he can exercise his leadership to the fullest in his native language.
VCT Masters Reykjavik, where both Japanese and South Korean VALORANT fans can follow ZETA Division and DRX respectively throughout the event, kicks off on April 10!
