CS2 Player Banned, Lost $100.000! CS2 player lost $100.000 worth of items after unfair ban. He was wrongfully accused and punished.
We've all experienced mishaps that cost us progress, like when your game crashes and you can't save for hours. However, it hurts much more when you are not the culprit of the problem. That's exactly what happened to one CS2 player after Valve's anti-cheat system unfairly banned them for using AMD's anti-lag feature, and they lost access to their beloved weapon skin collection in the process.
On October 13, in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, a player shared that he lost $100.000 worth of items when he was banned from the game mid-match.
Recently, due to VAC's increased effectiveness in banning players, some players have been unfairly banned for using the AMD Anti-Lag+ feature, as this caused false positives that led to their accounts being suspended.
Obviously, once your account is banned, you are banned from any activity, including trading in-game items. This proved costly for many players, especially Neon, who lost access to their accounts with items worth over $100.000 in total.
Neon has a collection of over 3.000 CS skins that include rare items like the Factory New Butterfly Knife Fade and Field Tested quality Dragon Lore valued at over $1000.
In its latest update on October 12, AMD released an Anti-Lag+ feature that reduces input-response latency. This unintentionally led to VAC flagging this feature as an impermissible feature and banning players who had done nothing wrong. Despite these high-profile false positives, cheating issues remain common in CS2, with many professionals complaining about the state of the game.
Valve advised gamers to avoid using the Anti-Lag feature and disable it until a solution is found between Valve and AMD. This way, you can avoid being unfairly flagged and banned by VAC. Valve has urged AMD to release a fix quickly, so we hope the issue will be resolved soon.
