To see yourself as a good Counter-Strike: Global Offensive player, you need to give the game a good personal adjustment.
However, you may want to test the settings of a professional player. It might be worthwhile to see what makes them so good (besides their abilities) or just try diff settings.
Sometimes you like their crosshair look, you even run tests to see what changes you can make to your CS:GO setup.
How do I use someone else's settings (Config) in CS:GO?
- Find a pro player's config
- Download the config of your choice
- Find and unzip the compressed file
- Locate your Steam folder, usually located deep within your 'Local Disk (C:)' files
- Once you get to your Steam folder, go to 'userdata' and then navigate to the folder corresponding to your Steam ID.
- Once you find this folder, find '730', then 'local' and finally 'cfg'.
- Make sure you have a backup of your old config.
- Then put the new config file in this folder
After doing these steps, you will have a nice game configuration thanks to a professionally prepared config. Let's say if you want to activate these settings easily without following the steps above, you will need an autoexec.
This feature helps the game to automatically load these files into the game every time you boot up. This includes crosshair settings, bindings, and sensitivity.
How can I generate autoexec in CS:GO?
If you store CS:GO autoexecs correctly, you can use them anywhere. As long as it's accessible, you can take it and use it easily. Here are the steps to get your Autoexec setup and ready for your games:
- Find your CS:GO config folder by browsing the local files in your Steam library through Properties.
- Go to csgo then find 'cfg'
- Create a new text document
- Write your commands in this text document
- Type 'host_writeconfig' in the last line of the document and then save the file as 'autoexec.cfg' and save it as 'All Files'
- Delete your old txt file
- Once this is done, right click on 'Counter-Strike: Global Offensive'
- Go to Features
- Click Set Launch Options
- Then type '+exec autoexec.cfg' and click OK
Now your config settings and any links you collect while playing the game are saved. Repeat the process to change the config settings and test several different config files to find which one suits you best.
