The Season 1 update for Deep Rock Galactic adds a wealth of new content to the game, including a new 100% free battle pass system.
Deep Rock Galactichas just announced the Season 1 update and its new content includes a completely free battle pass system. Officially released in May of last year and part of Game Pass's long launch list, Deep Rock Galactic is a popular indie game that tasks teams of players with completing various missions in the expanding mines. The game features destructible environments, procedurally generated caves, and a wealth of different resources used to upgrade weapons and gear.
Deep Rock Galactic As explained on the FAQ page, this marks a shift in the game's development towards a focus on seasonal releases alongside regular updates, adding a new feature to the game in the form of the Progression Pass. The main selling point of this new battle pass system is that it is free for all players. Adding a battle pass system to a paid game isn't a brand new concept, as other versions like Naraka: Bladepoint and Minecraft Dungeons also offer battle passes, but the free-to-play angle will certainly be appealing.
Alongside this new reward system, the update also includes new weapons, robotic enemies, and a new type of mission, Industrial Sabotage, which tasks players with stealing and sabotaging data from a rival mining company. The mission turns into a big boss fight with a pyramid-shaped robot that players must destroy before stealing and draining the data. Deep Rock Galactic's biggest update is currently available via the experimental build on Steam and will be officially released on November 4, while Xbox and Game Pass players will be waiting for the update. 18 Novemberwill take it.
