Arguably the worst fight in the Elden Ring game. Godskin Duo, is a masterclass in how not to do a duo boss. They have no synergy, they're annoying enough on their own, and they don't even have a cool trick that lets you kill them. Here's how to beat this horror show of game design.
How to Defeat Godskin Duo in Elden Ring?
There are two schools of thought for defeating the Godskin Duo in Elden Ring.
- Fight them legally. If you want a direct, challenging and frustrating boss fight against the Godskin Duo, you first need to know how to fight both the Godskin Apostle and the Godskin Noble. The versions in the duo fight are stronger versions of the Apostles and Nobles you fight elsewhere in Elden Ring. The only difference now is that they are together. My biggest advice for a dual legal challenge is to not put them both in phase two at the same time. Noble will roll around the arena and knock you around at the speed of sound, and Apostle will throw out delayed attacks like candy. Use stone trellises to separate the two bosses and focus on killing one before dealing too much with the other.
- Make them defenseless with sleep. I hate the Godskin Duo and will never legally fight them again. Both Noble and Apostle are vulnerable to the Sleep condition, which actually knocks them out for a few minutes. If you're using an Arcane build, Sleep Arrows are a quick and easy way to apply status, and you don't need an upgraded bow to do it. Just grab a Shortbow, equip Barrage Ash of War on it, and go to town. Then you can use Bleed arrows somehow. If you don't have Arcane for the appropriate Sleep stack at range, throw Sleep Pots at the Duo's feet. In my fights (I've had it a few times), one pot was enough to Put both Noble and Apostle to Sleep if they were close together and I had good aim. I could then get three fully charged heavy attacks for free, which is a free riposte with greatsword weapons.
Remember: While playing Elden Ring, you need to completely deplete the health bars to defeat the Godskin Duo boss. You can't kill either of them before the bar is empty. After about a minute they will respawn and you will have to keep killing them until they remain dead.
Of the two, I always found Apostle easier to fight, as I could never get Noble's fat roll to fly very well. However, it's much easier to keep the big guy at arm's length, and it doesn't matter which of the Two you shoot. Damage dealt to someone is damage to the boss's collective health, so if you want to ignore someone completely, that's your prerogative.
So what's the short version of beating the Godskin Duo? Focus on one and keep the other dormant forever. Bring your best weapons with you, especially those with Bleed, and stay around the pillar bases after they fall.
