Envy eliminated both North American VALORANT Teams today thanks to their "El Diablo".
With Jaccob “yay” Whiteaker's massive play, he scored an impressive 100-2 victory over 0 Thieves and sent Envy into the grand finals of VCT Masters Three Berlin against Gambit.
The 100T won Haven first, took the pistol round, and penalized Envy's aggressive second-round purchase. Envy is back on the map with great reads and Gambit-style ambushes. Envy won nine straight rounds to lead 20-9 at halftime with 3 kills and just four kills from YAY.
Envy continued their lead by taking the first two rounds of the defensive sides prior to the first purchase of the 100T, while reviving the steel 100T gave it a massive 4k. Another big round from Sagittarius extinguished this lifeline and 1v1 from skirmishes against Hiko closed the map 13-5 in favor of Envy. Sagittarius finished with 31 kills and nine deaths.
The 100T did a clean assault pistol round for the Ascent, making noise in steel B, pulling the rest of the Envy from A. Both sides battled repeatedly for the A-site throughout the first half, back and forth, but leading to a 7-5 lead by Sagittarius Envy, which made the more awesome Op play.
The 100T won a few laps but missed some key kills on lap 21. Envy took the second map 13-8 and the series 2-0.
Envy earned its place in the Champions after surpassing 100T in overall VCT points and taking second place in NA. 100T should now sit and pray for Team Envy, because if they win against Gambit it will mean a guaranteed spot for 100T in Champions.
