Developer Saber Interactive announced that it will not develop new content for Evil Dead: The Game and that the Nintendo Switch version of the game has been cancelled. “Today we made the decision to not develop new content for Evil Dead: The Game,” the studio said in a statement on Twitter. “We also confirm that we will not be releasing a Nintendo Switch version of Evil Dead: The Game.” said.
However, Saber said that he will keep the game's servers open for the foreseeable future and will fix any major problems if they arise.
Evil Dead: The Game was first announced at the 2020 Game Awards with a trailer featuring Bruce Campbell as Ash Williams. It was planned to be released in 2021 but was postponed. The game was released on May 13, 2022 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
It received post-launch support in the form of updates for Splatter Royale and Army of Darkness, as well as a Game of the Year Edition for consoles. However, it seems that the game could not hold on to the market and did not live up to expectations. Frankly, Evil Dead: The Game is a good game, but it doesn't offer as much content or variety as other popular horror games like Dead By Daylight or Hunt Showdown.
