PlayStation Exclusive fails on PC. Sackboy: Big Adventure doesn't do much on PC compared to other PlayStation-exclusive titles that have made huge splashes, at least when it comes to Steam releases. When Sony's new console launched in 2020, Sackboy: Big Adventure was a cross-gen PS5 launch game that received mostly positive reviews and was lauded as a solid co-op platform game. Sackboy: Big Adventure arrived on PC nearly two years after its debut on PlayStation consoles.
The Sackboy: Big Adventure PC port is the latest PlayStation exclusive PC port. While Sony has definitely kept its games on its consoles, in recent years it has tried to bring some of its big games to PC. Some high-profile PlayStation PC ports include 2018's God of War, Spider-Man Remastered and Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection, with more planned for the future.

PlayStation Exclusive fails on PC. PlayStation games have had some success on PC, so Sony is investing resources to bring more of its biggest titles to the platform. However, Sackboy: Big Adventure does not seem to have achieved the same success as previous PlayStation games. Sackboy: Big Adventure has been available on PC since October 27, but as Push Square noted (according to SteamDB data), the game only had 610 concurrent players. By comparison, God of War's PC port had over 73.000 players at its peak. As of this writing, Sackboy: Big Adventure ranks last among Steam players.
This seems like a good sign that Sackboy: Big Adventure will fail on PC. Although unlikely, it's possible that the game will garner much more attention on the Epic Games Store or sell more copies on Steam than the number of concurrent players indicates. There are a number of reasons Sackboy: Big Adventure might struggle to find a viewership on PC compared to other PlayStation-exclusive titles. Two explanations stand out in particular.
The most obvious explanation for this is that Sackboy: Big Adventure has fewer PC players compared to other PlayStation-PC exclusive games. 3D platformers have no place in PC games, and Sackboy is unlikely to change that. Another possibility is that there is a lot of competition right now. The industry is in the middle of the fall gaming season, and on PC, Sackboy launches just a day before Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, which, when all said and done, is likely to be the best-selling game of the year.
