Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 4 Battle Pass Skins. There are many reasons why the Fortnite battle pass has been such a successful concept – a lot for little, FOMO, etc. But as a collector, I appreciate that many of the best quality skins in Fortnite come from battle tickets. Of course, not every battle pass skin is perfect – no pass has had a perfect record, including the pass for Chapter 4 Season 4.
There's a lot to love about this battle pass, although not all of the emotes this time are a hit. The emotes included are probably the best set of battle pass emotes in this section, and oddly enough we also have a really cool set of contrails.
At first glance, this battle card is rather unpretentious. There's no broad appealing collaboration here, with TikToker Khaby Lame and Star Wars TV character Ahsoka serving very specific demographic targets while being vaguely repulsive to everyone, at least in the abstract. Neither is remotely a part of the collective consciousness in the same way as, say, Darth Vader or Spider-Man. But the quality of many of the coatings in this transition, including these collaborations, is so high that it's pretty hard to hate them. At least most of them. There is one costume in this group that I absolutely dislike - but the rest all have some serious potential.
Let's not waste either yours or my time thinking more about the introduction. Let's judge a little.
Nolan Chance
Imagine a remake of Ocean's 11 starring the Ninja as Danny Ocean. That's pretty much the impression I got from Nolan Chance, and I absolutely hate it. His masked alt style looks like a man in the store for 800 V-Bucks, but that mask could have been Nolan's saving grace if he could wear it with his beautiful heist outfit. Unfortunately she can't wear it.
Khaby lame
I'm a mid-30s adult who doesn't use TikTok, so the overall appeal of the Khaby Lame look is nonexistent to me. This default style is fine though, and the anime substyle makes it look like a Dragon Ball character. If you can forget he's a TikTok guy, this cel-shaded style is perfect. It may take some time to forget about the TikTok thing.
Ahsoka
I didn't really enjoy the Disney+ premiere of Ahsoka, so it wasn't one of my favorite news stories from Ahsoka this week. That said, it's a high quality, highly detailed outfit, and I'm a big sucker for looks that use likenesses of real people - in this case Rosario Dawson - and that's why Ahsoka is one of those battle pass looks that can grow me over time. But it's rather strange that it doesn't have a Clone Wars-style sub-skin.
Piper Pace
This season's tomboy/Final Fantasy sidekick is a getaway driver/pizza delivery guy, and his jacket style is pretty chic. His jacketless style makes him Paradigm Jr. looks like it's looking like it's and I'm not sure it's that cool.
Kado Thorne
As a connoisseur of quirky looks, Kado Thorne has to be the perfect fit for me. But the vampire style is a little too clean – I prefer my monster men to be more nasty. Check out Graveyard Drift, Fortnite's previous vampire bat costume, for comparison. Her face is uglier and I love that. This vampire form is very handsome.
Mae
I want to cut Mae out for looking like Court Queen Erisa's substyle which they tried to hide by giving her a second braid. But who am I kidding, Queen Erisa has rules and I'm glad I have another similarly cute bucket hat anime girl in my locker to fight the kids online. This neon alternative style works very well to set Mae apart from the rest and will be a frequent hit in Fortnite for a long time to come.
Antonia
Everyone was expecting a new Midas, but instead we got Nolan Chance (ugh) and Antonia, who added a very stylish futuristic flair to the Midas/Marigold look. The choice of colors, the inclusion of masked styles all have the kind of thin bezel that super and sweaty competitive gamers love – Antonia will be a staple of the Fortnite Championship Series for a long time to come. But it's so great that the rest of us will use it a lot.
Fish Thick
Many of my favorite Fortnite skins are anthropomorphic animals or objects, and fish people are my favorite subsection in this group. Fish Thicc is the first costume to use a different body type from these, and this is the fun and fake Punisher substyle that is so incomprehensible that I can't help but feel some kind of love for it. This costume is just weird, memey crap, and Fortnite will always need it as often as possible.
