The sequel to the turn-based hardcore RPG hits early access next month exclusively on the Epic Games Store.
Darkest Dungeon 2 will be in Early Access on the Epic Games Store on October 26. Announced on Twitter by developer Red Hook, the sequel to the gothic horror turn-based strategy game will be in early access on PC via the Epic Games Store.
While Darkest Dungeon 2 has a store page on the Epic Games Store, no price has yet been announced. The trailer shows off a number of character classes found in the original game and hints that evil in the first game has spread across the world in Darkest Dungeon.
As reported by Game Informer, Darkest Dungeon 2 sends parties of players on a haunted trailer ride through various biomes, rather than abandoning the city-building elements of the original. The game will instead look like a rougelite, allowing players to earn Hope currency, which can be used to buy upgrades between runs to get the trailer a little further. Players will navigate a huge map where they have to make difficult choices between where to travel next. Permadeath is also returning, but instead of returning to Hamlet as in the original, in Darkest Dungeon 2 players will need to recruit a new adventurer at a local inn.
Darkest Dungeon 2 is currently only being announced for PC via the Epic Games Store. Darkest Dungeon is available on PS2, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PS Vita, Mobile and PC for anyone who wants to check out the original before diving into Darkest Dungeon 4.
