GTA 5 source code leaked onto the internet, dealing a major blow to Rockstar over Christmas.
After Insomniac's leak incident, GTA 5 developer Rockstar Games is also the target of leakers. GTA Focal was posted earlier today. According to the information published, the entire source code of GTA 5 has been leaked to the public. The leak also revealed data about Bully 2 and the next Grand Theft Auto game, codenamed Project Americas.
As can be seen in the post mentioned above, @GTAFocal confirmed the legitimacy of the report by even sharing a screenshot of the leaked GTA 5 source code. According to details, Rockstar was also working on a supposed sequel to the hit Bully video game.
Another report in X claims that the source code was leaked on an unnamed Discord server to prevent the spread of data.
A fan using the name "Agent" also shared his share of the GTA 5 source code leaks and some images of Rockstar Games' RAGE engine on X.
It was claimed that the source code of Grand Theft Auto 5 was leaked along with the leaked images last year. However, it has never been made public until now. This is a huge loss of data for the developer and could have implications for both current players and future players of the series.
Popular online reporter Gaming Detective (@that1detectiv3) also highlighted the potential impact of the leaked source code, stating that it could even cause delays in Rockstar Games' upcoming Grand Theft Auto 6 game.
Rockstar Games has not made any statement regarding the leak at the time of writing this article. Fans are asked to appreciate the work developers put into video games and to refrain from further disseminating the leaked source code.
Another developer, Insomniac Games, recently faced a massive data leak that revealed a fully downloadable unreleased Wolverine video game and details about its upcoming games.
