Lego Fortnite: Where to Find Knotroot? The key resource knotroot is hidden some distance away, but we can help you find it.
For the first hour or two you spend in a new world in Lego Fortnite, resources are plentiful and usually lie everywhere near where you build your village. But when it's time to level up to level 4, you'll need something new: Knotroot. You can't find this thing everywhere, and when you do, a simple forest ax won't do the trick, either figuratively or literally. But don't worry, we'll walk you through all the steps you need to take to start harvesting knotweed.
Lego Fortnite: What you need to harvest Knotroot
To start, you'll need a rare (green) jungle ax that is one quality level better than the first ax you can craft at your workbench. So for the first time you'll need to upgrade the workbench, which requires eight wooden planks and three cylinder shells – not too difficult to source.
After improving the workbench, you can craft a forest ax of rare quality with three wooden sticks and three skeleton bones, which are abundant at night. Once you've done that, it's time to head to the cave.
How to find knotroot
Knotroot is only found in caves and so you need to look for one. Fortunately, caves are pretty easy to spot: cave entrances appear on piles of rocks around the world that are too large to be mined with a pickaxe – they're easy to see from quite a distance, and when you approach a cave entrance it's automatically marked permanently on your map. For now, stick to caves in the temperate zone – if this is your first time getting knotroot, chances are you're not equipped for hot or cold zones, and you'll be killed pretty quickly if you step into a cave in those zones.
When you enter your temperate zone cave, knot roots will immediately catch your attention because they are twisted, curly tree roots sticking out of cave walls and ceilings everywhere. There will be plenty of them around, but the cave will also be full of creatures that will probably try to kill you, so you'll have to fight your way through.
From here, you can use the knot root itself as a crafting material to level up your village to level 4 and do a variety of other things, as well as crafting it into Knot Root sticks to craft better equipment.
