We're very close to the League of Legends World Championship, which means the annual Pick'em game is about to go into full effect. Starting September 26, LoL fans will be able to make their official selections for this year's World Championship.
This year, Riot introduced two new features for the 2021 edition of Worlds Pick'em, including the Crystal Ball and a mechanic called "The Coin".
The new Crystal Ball feature allows players to choose the World champion 10 days before the play-in phase of the tournament begins. Players who choose the correct winner in the Crystal Ball stage of the Pick'em game will earn an additional 20 points to their final Pick'em points. Players will be able to place their Crystal Ball predictions from September 26 at 01:00 CT until October 5 at 01:00 CT.
If Pick'em players miss any deadlines during the tournament stages, a new feature called The Coin will randomly pick teams for you. According to an announcement from Riot, The Coin will “make random picks for players who missed a Pickup Phase so they can always join late and let the RNG gods decide for them.”
During the World Championship, League of Legends players who participate in Pick'em will be able to receive in-game rewards in the League client. Prizes for this year's Pick'em game include Blue Essence, Summoner Tokens, Hextech Chests, and Esports Capsules.
Players who correctly select the outcome of each group and group stage match will receive a cache of all Ultimate skins released in League of Legends: Pulsefire Ezreal, Spirit Guard Udyr, DJ Sona, Elementalist Lux, Gun Goddess Miss Fortune, and K/DA ALL.
The main 2021 Worlds Pick'em game will kick off on October 10, when all four groups from this year's Worlds group stage have been determined. The 2021 LoL World Championship will kick off with the prep phase on October 5.
