Expect the League of Legends Patch 11.21 meta to change once again before the preseason.
With all the action in the League of Legends World Championship taking place in Patch 11.19, the game's development team has released a preview for Patch 11.21, where the next update is scheduled to hit live servers.
Patch 11.21 will be the fourth-to-last League patch of 2021. Riot hasn't given a clear date for when the ranked season will end or when the 2022 preseason season will begin, but an announcement was made from the League development team last week. It hinted at many changes to the game in the near future. With that in mind, an official date for the game's next big shakeup should be on the horizon.
For now, patches like 11.21, scheduled for release next week, should bring minor changes to the game to keep things under control before the pre-season arrives. Only 11 champions receive balance changes in the patch, six sets will be buffed, and five are available for buffs.
The most common champion to be nerfed in 11.21 will undoubtedly be Miss Fortune. After dominating the AD carry role on the pro scene at Worlds while simultaneously wreaking havoc in the solo queue, Bounty Hunter is poised to see his strength rightly diminish. Other than Miss Fortune, other champions to line up for the nerf include Graves, Akshan, Quinn, and Karthus.
On the other hand, six champions will receive buffs when Patch 11.21 is released. After being completely destroyed in 11.17, Viego will see some of its power restored in 11.21. Earlier this year, Ruined King nerfed four of his five abilities in the same patch, effectively kicking him out of both the pro and solo queue meta. We'll see to what extent these nerfs will be compensated in Patch 11.21.
Alongside Viego, other champions such as Lux, Sion, Xayah, Jinx, and Teemo will also receive buffs in 11.21.
Alongside champions, several Keystone runes are planned to be nerfed, including Guardian and Conqueror, with the Goredrinker being the only item planned to be nerfed. According to Riot, Stridebreaker will also receive balance adjustments in the patch.
Patch 11.21 will hit live servers on October 20, according to the game's official patch schedule.
