Sony announced the PlayStation State of Play event. Hours after Nintendo announced its next Direct, Sony announced its digital event – and it will take place on the same day. Sony is holding a State of Play presentation on Thursday, September 14, the company announced on Wednesday. Sony has said that this State of Play will focus on “independent and third-party games from around the world,” so don't hold your breath for any big new reveals from the company's PlayStation Studios.
“Tomorrow's release will focus on updates to previously announced games coming to PlayStation consoles,” wrote Sony's Shawne Benson on the PlayStation blog. “From indie and PSVR2 featured games to upcoming major titles from our third-party partners, our latest lineup has something for everyone!” The event will start at 17pm ET / 00pm PT.
Thursday is shaping up to be a big day for gaming news. Nintendo will kick off the day with the next Nintendo Direct at 10 a.m. ET / 00 a.m. PT. Immediately following at 7:00 ET / 11:00 PT, CD Projekt Red will host a program about the new Cyberpunk 8 expansion pack, Phantom Liberty.
