VALORANT Patch 5.12 is getting ready to be added to the game with many changes. VALUE The community has already responded to the drastic Chamber changes that have hit PBE in response to the agent's dominance of both casual and professional gaming since his debut.
With the exception of the French sniper, almost every agent in the game is also getting a minor change in 5.12 that could shake up the meta.
Here are all the changes coming with Valorant Patch 5.12.
General Changes
Riot will adjust Assist Tail Tuning, which refers to the amount of time after an applied debuff expires, during which the player who applied the debuff can still receive an assist on a resulting kill. All assist times in the game have been increased, meaning players will see more assists in their K/D/A counts at the end of the match. This will be especially helpful for controller, lead and scout players.
Another highlight of this patch is that the few existing abilities can now destroy other utilities.
Specter is also getting a few changes. Now there are three damage tiers based on different distances.
- 0-15 meters, 26 damage per bullet.
- 15m-30 meters, 22 damage per bullet.
- Over 30 meters, 20 damage per bullet.
- Riot has also adjusted the damage multipliers in many utilities to account for adjustments in the impact of health, cost, and benefit as a whole.
duelists
Phoenix
WALL OF FIRE – cost reduced from 200 to 150, can now damage and destroy several enemy vehicles.
DRAIN BALL – can now damage and destroy several enemy vehicles.
Phoenix is receiving a light boost to his WALL OF FIRE ability (C). This ability is a wall of flame that he can bend to cover a certain area. The Wall deals heavy damage to people passing through it (except Phoenix). Phoenix can also use this ability to heal himself.
WALL OF FIRE cost reduced from 200 credits to 150 credits. This is because the ability can stay on par with similar wall abilities in the game, such as Viper and Harbor's respective signature abilities.
rays
BOMBOT – health reduced from 100 to 60.
EXPLOSIVE BAG – health increased to 20, now deals damage to Fade's Prowler.
COLOR BOMB – now damages Fade's Prowler
The changes to Raze are health point changes to some of his abilities. He's getting a buff and a nerf.
BOMBOT is getting nerfed and will now have 60 health points, making it much easier to destroy. Explosive Bags, on the other hand, now have 20 health each, which is a big change that can be seen in other utilities throughout this patch. This means that it is now more difficult to destroy Explosive Bags.
yoru
ATTACK - health reduced from 100 to 60, cost reduced from 200 to 150.
Yoru's change cannot be directly classified as a nerf or buff. The ability FASTDOOR now has less health, which makes it much easier to destroy, but it also costs slightly less. Players will be able to purchase the CATCHER more often, but they will need to be more careful when using it.
precursors
Breach
EARTHQUAKE – Ultimate point increased from seven to eight.
Aftershock – now deals less damage to non-player targets.
Breach is the newest agent to join the eight-point Ultimate pool. While in the past, Earthquake's power deserved the seven-point cost, it seems necessary to increase the cost as Breach has become a stronger pick overall.
Trays
Prowler – health reduced from 100 to 60.
Fade's Prowler ability, which can track enemies and blind them with close vision, is being nerfed. Prowlers will now be easier to destroy once Fade has sent them out.
KAY / O
PIECE/Effective – health increased to 20, now deals damage to Fade's Prowler.
CANCEL/Command – ultimate score increased from seven to eight.
ZERO/point – now a voicemail will play to let KAY/O's allies know how many enemies have been suppressed.
KAY/O's grenade now has 20 health points instead of one. This means teams need to be more coordinated in defusing the grenade. His signature ability, his blade will now be more effective by additional communication with teammates.
KAY/O also joins the eight-point ultimate club, and his powerful ultimate ability that suppresses ability use within a set radius around him will now cost more.
SLEEP
Exploration Arrow – health increased to 20 at once.
Shock Arrow – can now damage Fade's Prowler.
HUNTER'S FURY – can now damage and destroy several enemy vehicles.
This health change to Sight Arrow is similar to the changes to Raze's explosive bags and KAY/O's blade. Destroying the arrow is now more difficult. Especially for the Recon Arrow, this change can be of interest, as Sova players often throw darts at the ceiling or other hard-to-reach places on the map.
Skye
HUNTING – cost increased from 250 to 300.
NATURE'S HEALING – cost reduced from 200 to 150.
The dog Skye sends forward to stun enemies now costs more. However, unlike many abilities that get buffed for damaging useful parts, HUNTING PASSION still can't benefit players, it can only damage and stun.
Skye is one of only two agents in the game that can heal teammates and is now cheaper to heal and is getting a buff for this ability.
Controller
Brimstone
FIRE – can now damage and destroy several enemy vehicles.
SATELLITE ATTACK – can now destroy Chamber's abilities
These changes are a buff for Brimstone and give it more effect with its secondary function.
Harbor
Flood – duration increased from 12 seconds to 15 seconds.
Cascade – duration increased from five seconds to seven seconds.
The game's newest agent, Harbor, will receive a major buff this patch. The wall ability Flood now lasts longer and gives teammates more time to move behind the curtain of water.
The slowing wave Cascade now lasts longer. It is not clear whether this change will also change the distance the wave can travel.
Omen
Paranoia – cost reduced from 200 to 150.
Omen's Paranoia ability is one of the strongest blinding abilities in the game. It will now cost less and give the spooky agent a good buff.
Viper
Viper's Lair – smoke integrity regen time increased from 5 seconds to 25 seconds, smoke max timeout reduced from 15 seconds to 8 seconds, ultimate points increased from seven to eight.
ACID POOL – can now damage and destroy several enemy vehicles.
Viper's Lair is getting some nerfs this patch. The ultimate ability has long been one of the most powerful abilities in VALORANT and will now cost 8 points
Especially for Viper players, the time the agent can spend outside of his ult is now almost halved. After 8 seconds outside the den, the poison cloud will disappear and the bar will go down to zero. The bar reload time is also now significantly longer.
WATCHERS
Chamber
Headhunter (Q)
- Tab curve changed.
- Increased scatter after the second bullet in successive shots. This change has been made to prevent the method of repeatedly firing at the opponent's body from being used as an efficient combat option, as it requires lower accuracy.
Meeting (E)
- Chamber now deploys a single teleporter to teleport while within range.
- Range increased: 15 meters >>> 26 meters
- Removed the teleport height restriction.
- As long as you are within range of the teleporter, you can teleport even if there is a height difference between you.
- Increased weapon equip delay after teleporting: 0,4 sec. >>> 0,7 sec.
- The Headhunter will not be affected by this change.
- The teleporter deployed by the meeting ability is now disabled for the remainder of the turn instead of going on cooldown when destroyed.
- The cooldown no longer increases when Chamber summons the teleporter after teleporting.
Business card (C)
- Trap's maximum range is now limited.
- The business card deactivates when it leaves the Chamber range and reactivates when it re-enters the area.
- Can now be recalled in the middle of the round.
- It doesn't need to be in the field of view.
- When recalled, it goes on a 30 second cooldown.
- If destroyed, it will be disabled until the end of the turn.
- Trap activation time increased: 2 sec. >>> 4 sec.
- Health increased: 1 >>> 20
Slowdown
- This change is Business cards as well as Sharp Style valid for.
- Slow effect decreased: 50% >>> 40%
- Slow duration decreased: 6 sec. >>> 4 sec.
- Area size decreased by 30%.
Cypher
BOBY TRAP – increased health from one to 20.
This BOBY TRAP buff makes it harder to destroy it, but it goes along with most of the other utility changes in this patch.
killjoy
Nanoswarm – health suddenly increased to 20, can now damage and destroy several enemy vehicles.
Incarceration – health increased from 150 to 200.
Killjoy's Nanoswarm bombs are now harder to destroy, again in line with most of the other utility changes in this patch. Her ultimate ability, Isolation, which can be easily countered and destroyed, is getting a small buff in VALORANT Patch 50 with 5.12 extra health points.
Legend
BARRIER SPHERE – buff delay increased from three seconds to 3,3 seconds.
HEALTH orb – self-heal total amount reduced from 60 health points to 30 health points, ally healing total amount increased from 60 health points to 100 health points.
Sage is receiving a few changes that are likely to result in a nerf overall, but will increase his role as a Sentinel in helping his teammates. While he can now only heal himself for up to 30 health points, he can give up to 100 health points to an ally, which can change the rules of the game.
Also, it will now take a little longer for your wall to self-reinforce, making it easier to fall as soon as it's built.
