Destiny 2: The Witch Queen
The expansion, scheduled for release in November, has delayed Destiny 2: Witch Queen to 2022. The expansion's scope, complexity, and narrative ties to other content were one of the reasons for the delay, and the studio also wanted to avoid putting extra pressure on the development team during the pandemic. However, the game's content, including the Vault of Glass raid, will continue throughout 2021.
crimson desert
First revealed with a gameplay trailer in 2020 and scheduled for release in 2021, Crimson Desert, the open-world sequel to Black Desert Online, has now been delayed indefinitely as Pearl Abyss works to add "new ideas." “a deeper, more enriching game.”
Skull & Bones
A fairy tale as old as time. A song as old as rhyme. Skull & Bones has been delayed.
Ubisoft's open world online pirate game Skull & Bones is still in development. It won't arrive until April 2022 at the earliest. The game was first announced in 2017 and development has had many issues, including getting a new creative director. He left his position in late 2020 amid allegations of harassment and bullying at studio general manager Hugues Ricour.
Deathloop
Arkane Lyon's Deathloop is scheduled for release in late 2020, in May, but won't be out on that date either. The Dishonored-style time-turning action game is now coming September 14, and the developer said it wants to make sure it can create "a fun, stylish and mind-blowing player experience" while keeping its employees healthy and safe.
Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga
Originally scheduled for release in Spring 2021, Lego Star Wars: Skywalker Saga has been delayed indefinitely. Traveler's Tales didn't give a definitive reason for the delay, except that it wanted to give the game more time to deliver "the biggest and best Lego game ever" to the team, and said it would provide new launch information as soon as possible.
The Lord of the Rings: Gollum
We won't be able to have The Lord of the Rings: Gollum until 2022. The game's planned 2021 launch has been delayed as Daedalic Entertainment and Nacon partner with progress on the project. Xbox Series X | S is scheduled to launch on several different systems, including Xbox One, PS5, PS4, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
Ken: Bridge of Spirits
Kena: Bridge of Spirits has been delayed to early 5, shortly after it was showcased at the PS2021's official launch event. However, it was postponed again to the end of February due to various problems. This time it has been pushed to August 4 for both PS5 and PS24 versions. That didn't last either, the game was taken another delay to September 21.
Hogwarts legacy
Hogwarts Legancy, a game set in the 19th century of the Harry Potter world, was scheduled to be released this year, but has been delayed to 2022. The delay came amid controversy surrounding writer JK Rowling, who was not directly involved with the project.
Gotham Knights
The non-standard Gotham Knights, a spin-off of the Batman franchise, was scheduled to arrive before the end of 2021. Warner Bros. made a very vague statement about "providing players the best possible experience" but did not specify the reason for the delay. The cooperative action game is directed by Patrick Redding, who previously worked on Splinter Cell and Far Cry. This is the only DC game Warner Bros. has cooked for, and there's also a Suicide Squad game coming out in 2022.
New World
Amazon's MMO New World has been delayed too many times to count. Apparently one of the only games Amazon didn't cancel completely, New World moved it from an Uncertain Spring 2021 to August 31, 2021. It looked like it would continue after a successful beta, but the game is now out in September.
