Alan Wake Remastered is coming to Nintendo Switch this fall, Remedy Entertainment announced on Thursday. The game was originally released for PlayStation, Xbox, and PC (via the Epic Games Store) last year. According to a press email sent to The Verge, the Switch version runs “natively on hardware,” unlike Remedy's cloud-streaming Switch Control port.
Remedy has also shared a few Alan Wake series updates. When the studio announced Alan Wake 2 in December, Remedy creative director Sam Lake stated that we might hear more about the game this summer. But he said in a video released Thursday that we'll have to wait to see more of the game.
“Everything is going really well [with the development of Alan Wake 2],” Lake said. “Most of the game is playable. But we've been talking for the past few months and we've decided we're not going to show anything big this summer." Alan Wake 2 will be released in 2023.
Remedy also shared that AMC Networks has acquired the rights to the previously announced Alan Wake TV show. “The series still has a long way to go before it becomes a reality, but to say the least, we're excited about this latest development,” Remedy said in a press email.
