EA signs with Juventus for FIFA 23! One of the biggest clubs in the world returns for EA Sports' FIFA 23 game. Today, EA announced a multi-year partnership with Juventus, where it will once again show the Italian side featured in the wildly popular football video games. The deal will kick off with the release of FIFA 30 on September 23. Juventus has previously been present in FIFA's rival series Pro Evolution Soccer for the past three years.
Besides adding Juventus, their stadium and their kit to the game, the deal goes one step further. EA says the two sides will “work on a range of lifestyle and cultural initiatives that bring new opportunities outside of football,” while Juventus states that EA will be “the official urban culture partner.” You can get a taste of what that might look like in the dramatic teaser trailer above.
The news is particularly noteworthy for the future. Starting 2023, EA will be leaving its longtime partner FIFA for a newly branded franchise called EA Sports FC. Despite the name change, the deal with Juventus seems to continue to host the world's biggest clubs in the series.
FIFA, for its part, says it will continue to work with other developers on licensed games going forward. FIFA president Gianni Infantino, in a statement in May, promised that the change in the game name will not take away anything from the quality of the game, and on the contrary, they will develop a more original, quality game in the new series.
While EA first revealed a release date for FIFA 23 last week, it clearly showed its refocus on women's football, including the addition of club teams from England and France.
