League of Legends 13.18 Patch Notes. We've been counting down the patches for the World Championship 2023 for a while, and with the arrival of League of Legends Patch 13.18, the big dance is almost here.
Bringing 12 champion changes, six buffs, six debuffs, as well as several item tweaks, this League update focuses entirely on what the metagame will look like for the big event of pro play. While the Riot Games development team is pretty happy with the way things are going, there are still "small adjustments" that need to be made, according to balance boss Matt Leung-Harrison.
Power picks like Kayn, Jarvan IV, and Tryndamere in particular need a little better control, meaning debuffs are coming for some of the strongest warriors in Summoner's Rift right now.
Riot is also looking to get the AD carry metagame right, leaving Stormrazor and wave-cleaning machine Statikk Shiv pretty solid on the team's target.
Still, not everything is about professional gaming; An entirely new character is also expected to join the roster in this update cycle, and Restricted Hunter Briar is locked in for a major entry.
Finally, we know that no League patch can be complete without cosmetics, and the new Street Demon skins don't disappoint.
When will League 13.18 Patch be released?
The second final patch before the Worlds update will be released on Wednesday, September 13. Of course, not every planned change will materialize, but most of them are expected to come to live servers, especially new champion skins, cosmetics, and bug fixes.
The first update of September will launch in Australia - luckily for me - around 10am and will run on major League servers throughout the day.
Here are all the important patch times:
- 3am P.T. (NA)
- 5am GMT (EU West)
- 3am CET (EU North East)
- 8am KR (Korea)
Here's a countdown we can watch while we wait:

Patch 13.18
Expect a few hours of server downtime as the patch begins to prepare. Matchmaking will be disabled in all League ranks three hours before the update is officially released.
What's in League Patch 13.18?
Tryndamere, Jarvan is rising too fast
Riot is looking to bring a few sudden power picks back to the metagame properly, especially Tryndamere and Jarvan IV. They both got extra support with some changes made in Patch 13.17 which gave them more power than the League devs expected and now they need to be fixed.
A total of a dozen champions will be fine-tuned. This Irelia, Gwen (jungle focused), Jhin (high Elo only), Kennen, Senna (critical hit build focused), and Thresh including power-ups.
In the Reductions column Jarvan IV, Kayn (red), Rell, Tryndamere, Zeri and Xayah all being pulled down.
Four League items see smaller adjustments
Item selections mostly used by AD carriers, especially Stormrazor and Statikk Shiv, are being upgraded with this update. Other legendary items like Shojin's Spear and Shattered Queen's Crown are also in line for the 13.18 Patch changes.
Riot wants to cut the tide a bit before Worlds; currently "degrading game quality".
Flamboyant 'street' looks are in store
The next set of League costumes brings bright, bold and eye-catching neon colors to the game again and adds an urban art style along with a few different aesthetics. Brand, Rengar, Neeko, Zyra and especially Dr. Mundo is included in this version.
This is the first new skin for the Madman of Zaun in over 1.700 days. This breaks the title's longest-running streak, stretching back to the 2018 season.
This update also includes a new essence skin called Crystalis Motus Taliyah, which gives Taşyürekli an emerald style.
Here are all the skins coming with this patch:
- Street Demons Brand (1,350 RP)
- Street Demons Briar (1,350 RP)
- Street Demons Mundo (1,350 RP)
- Street Demons Neeko (1,350 RP)
- Street Demons Rengar (1,350 RP)
- Crystalis Motus Taliyah (100 Mythic Essence)
- Street Demons Zyra (1,350 RP)
These skins will go live during the 13.18 Patch cycle.
I've put together all the early League notes for the September 13 update below. Remember, until Riot releases the official patch, any of these buffs, debuffs, and changes are still very temporary and we could see them retract at any time.
