The new trailer for Dragon Ball creator Akira Toriyama's Sand Land game shows off the world beyond the sands as well as new characters.
Bandai Namco announced that Sand Land, the action RPG game adapted from the manga of Dragon Ball creator Akira Toriyama, will be released on April 26, 2024. A new trailer reveals the game's release date, as well as showing off new (less gritty) biomes, gameplay features, and characters.
Adapting the classic Toriyama manga in a similar style to Bandai Namco's Dragon Ball games, Sand Land seemed to come out of nowhere when it was announced at last year's Summer Games Fest. The series takes place in a Mad Max-like desert apocalypse where water is a scarce and valuable resource.
The game follows Beelzebub, a bored demon prince and son of Lucifer, and his companion Thief, who join old man Sheriff Rao on his quest to find water for his people. The new trailer also introduces Ann, a “mysterious” mechanic who is sure to be a helpful companion in the game, offering multiple different types of customizable vehicles for your journey across the sands.
But the Sand Land Game New Trailer shows more than just sand, giving a glimpse of greener worlds beyond the desert on the road to the Legendary Spring.
The game will be released on PC, PS26, PS2024 and Xbox Series x on April 4, 5.
Not only has Sand Land found new life in games, but it also got a new anime film adaptation released last year. A series adapted and expanded from the film will also air on Hulu in the US and Disney+ in international markets starting in Spring 2024.
