Call of Duty: Warzone's second annual Halloween event, The Haunting, will kick off on October 19 in a few weeks.
Last year's event added zombies to the map along with a spooky theme, including different modes, blueprints to earn, and operator skins. These skins included horror movie legends like Leatherface and Jigsaw. According to data mines and leaks, this year's event will be similar.
Content creator PrestigeIsKey's Black Ops Cold War game has revealed that Ghostface, the masked killer of the Scream movie franchise, will make an operator appearance at this year's event. The glitch even revealed the intro cutscene for the character.
A potential pack will likely include a few Scream-themed items, but Ghostface is as iconic as it gets when it comes to slasher movies, which makes it even more affordable to add. A new Scream movie is in development that will be released in 2022.
A leak of content from Ghostface Video has revealed that Donnie Darko may be coming for Warzone. On September 12, the leaker posted a poster of Donnie Darko with information that the operator's costume would later belong to the character Frank from the movie in the bunny costume.
Donnie Darko, 2001 psychological thriller starring Jake Gyllenhaal, less well-known of the two series, but no less star. The team between CoD and the movie franchise will be the newest of many, including characters like John Rambo and John McClane from Die Hard earlier this year.
If the leaks are correct, we'll soon see ghost killers and six-metre rabbits roaming Verdansk. We'll find out more in a few weeks.
