Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2 is only a few days away, and all in-game signs tell us Season 1 will end on March 8. As is usually the case, Epic Games is keeping its cards private for now. The company has not yet made a detailed statement about Season 2. That said, we have some tips, both big and small, on what's in store for us in the new season.
When does Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2 start?
This season is said to end on March 8, which is the true deadline 9 March means it will.
So if Epic follows the normal procedure, Fortnite will go offline for the Season 2 update on March 9, followed by Chapter 4 Season 2 on the morning of March 10.
This date was basically confirmed in update 23.50 on the Cipher quests page in your quests tab. A note on this page states “A signal with a looped encrypted message in it 0.3.1.0.2.0.2.3 has been detected. What could this mean?” This is the possible release date of Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2 10.3.2023 means.
What do we know about Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2?
This week's most obvious clues come from the fourth set of Oathbound story missions. During these missions, Rift Ward Stellan talks about how the Ageless Champion decided to build a Rift Gate near the Citadel at the behest of the "Shapeless Man" responsible for the chrome invasion that destroyed the last Fortnite island. Stellan is very worried about this Shapeless Man, whom she describes as pursuing some kind of "perfect order." The description of the Shapeless Man also fits that of The Nothing, which was responsible for the chrome invasion that destroyed the last battle royale island. My best guess: They must be the same person.
This is a big improvement for Fortnite's overarching plan. Ever since we defeated IO in Episode 3 Season 2, long-term factions of the island have disappeared, apart from story missions involving The Scientist in Episode 3 Season 3 and a couple of cutscenes with The Paradigm in Episode 3 Season 4. Dialogue from the Bytes missions last season showed a connection between The Last Reality and The Last Reality, but since they and IO were at war with each other in Episode 2, it would be hard to believe he was collaborating with both. But that makes a pretty good comeback, right?
While there is another Sworn mission group before the end of the season, this Rift Gate is open and active as it is now, also we were unable to close it as an unknown side is currently controlling it and keeping it open.
Apart from IO and Last Reality, we apparently have other old factions that were in the game in Chapter 4 Season 2: Fox Clan and Peace Syndicate. Fox Clan members are in Fortnite forever! (Drift, one of the most popular Fortnite skins ever, was added to the Chapter 1 Season 5 Battle Pass. And the popular Crew skin Vi was also owned by Fox Clan.)
But from the Fox Clan, whose members are particularly known for possessing powers and abilities that wield Rifts (“Drift” is thus a pun) as a group until Chapter 2 Season 5, until an unknown enemy nearly destroys them before Drift. was not mentioned. Vi, Catalyst, and the others brought the group back. The ghostly Kondor held by IO is thought to be this enemy, but the Fox Clan story slowed down and got nowhere.
Peace Syndicate is a newer group, first teased during the war against IO in Chapter 3 Season 2 and then the focus of Season 3, aka Vibin' season. Evie from the Season 3 battle pass became the face of the group. (Twyn from the Episode 3 Season 4 battle pass is also a Peace Syndicate member, like Meowscles.)
We don't know yet what Fox Clan or Peace Syndicate have to do with all this, or whether they're the good guys or the bad guys in this case. Peace Syndicate in particular has had sinister overtones from the very beginning. However, both factions are referenced in Oathbound missions, both factions are repeatedly mentioned in new text strings added with the 23.50 update, and Fox Clan is the subject of one of the Rift events that are constantly teleporting around the island.

What skins will be included in the Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2 battle pass?
The 23.50 update has also added new Cipher missions, and one of the rewards for these missions is likely to reveal a battle ticket skin. The reward in question is a spray called A Distant Roar, awarded for completing a series of Cipher missions. This spray shows a cool lizard man wearing a Thriller jacket, a character we've seen in a Fortnite outfit survey before.
If Epic is releasing teasers with it in-game like this, you can expect to see it in your collection in the near future.
The Shapeless Man himself is one unlikely battle ticket costume that people have been really looking forward to this season. This is most likely the same character from last season as The Nothing, so it's also a possibility.
For now, this is what we know. But we're so close to Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2 now that we'll be seeing new hints and teasers very soon.
